So you want to create a podcast that stands out from the masses? And then you want to get people to listen to it?

This day long workshop, from audio producers Whistledown, will give you some of the skills and inspiration to create high quality original podcasts and introduce you to the principles of how to market it.

We dissect what makes a successful podcast, how to plan it and put it together, and explain some of the simple tools that can ensure you reach an audience.

Over the course of the day you will:

• listen to some great podcasts and work out what makes them successful
• script an introduction to your own podcast
• workshop and plan a podcast format
• learn the principles of capturing good quality sound
• understand rights issues
• explore different funding models
• make your own 5-minute podcast to take home.

About the trainers:

Whistledown producers create award winning programmes and podcasts for Economist Radio, BBC Sounds, BBC Radio 4, Spotify and Audible.
